Gratitude, Family and the Rhythm of Daily Prayer
By Rozmeen Bhai
In a life filled with work, family and community, Rozmeen Bhai believes the steadiest anchor is a daily habit of gratitude and reflection.
Beginning and ending the day
Prayer and quiet reflection at the start and end of the day give shape to everything in between. Even a few minutes of stillness can reset a hurried mind.
Gratitude as practice
Gratitude is easy on good days. The real practice is finding it on difficult ones: for health, for family, for the chance to begin again. Over time, the habit changes how one sees the world.
Faith at home
Families pass on faith less through instruction than through example: the way parents speak to one another, how they treat guests, and whether they keep their promises. A home built on these habits becomes a place of peace.
Community as extended family
The jamatkhana and the wider community offer support in times of joy and sorrow alike. Belonging to such a community is itself a blessing to be grateful for.
